The hotel setting, decor and the employees are 5 Star Plus. Because the hotel does not have it's own website, you have to go by pictures and comments that outsiders make. I felt no one has said enough about the stair challenge at every floor level (there are many levels) of the hotel. As a 66 year old woman with a fit 78 year old husband, we found it to be challenging every step (literally) of the way, no we do not have any sort of disability or handicap. We were put in the Arbol room, also known at the Diablo room, which is located in a treehouse setting, the highest "floor level" of the hotel, with 2 winding staircases. Like I said, none of this is described by anyone and the hotel doesn't have a website so I'm sharing this information with you. Also, the hotel is located on a very steep hill, which makes it difficult to walk down 5-6 blocks to the street level. Because it is a boutique hotel, personnel is slim and sometimes hard to find help. There are no phones in the rooms so can't call the front desk and desk hours are spotty and random. For example, my husband was showering and the water went off..........couldn't find anyone to make a report. It's funny until you are the one with a soapy body and no water. Another inconvenience, I went to the pool and when I got out there were no towels (typically in a basket by the pool)..........couldn't easily find anyone without going up and down stairs or going back to the treehouse all wet. Lots of idiosyncrasies within this charming hotel.
I could have avoided some of these issues if they had a website that described the hotel. I would have a least requested a room on a lower floor. Loved PV!!!!!
