Very low price. We had a private room with AC and our own bathroom, mostly cold water showers only. Plain room and bed was comfortable. No TV anywhere that I saw; didnt miss the noise. Everybody we met was really cool. A lot of the staff is young people staying there working part time. You might have to wait some but everyone is very friendly. Free pancakes and coffee every morning and a kit hen and fridge to use. Everyone hangs out and socializes on the roof. First time at a hostel, these will be my goto for future travel. Way better experience that a hotel. Not for picky people who want everything how they used to or need a lot of privacy. If you want a cool experience a lot cheaper and more fun than a hotel this is a great place.

Went in April 2022. Very good price, clean, and nice staff. They have a nice rooftop with a lovely view. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a cheap place to stay in PV. Nice decor also, and overall enjoyed it and would use it again.

When I stayed here I booked and paid for an individual room, I was placed in a room with 3 beds. That night while I was sleeping a man came into my locked room with keys claiming it was their room. It was a really scary experience. Their bathroom on the bottom floor also locked me in multiple times and I couldn't get out without calling for help for someone outside to help open the door. I was not warned of this at all. I would recommend staying elsewhere, this place was too disorganized.

Terrible staff. After the first night they told me to leave and we're unwilling to refund my payment for the other nights. By the way this was because I showered 'too long' and it was 'the last straw'.

Someone had left in the middle of the night which seemed odd, but after I experienced the attitude of the staff it was obvious why.

Not wanting to argue with a man child over a small amount of money I just left. Still not the worst hostel experience I've had in Puerto Vallarta.

If you stay here you'll probably be the most intelligent person there but you'll definitely feel stupid when you leave because I told you so.

Definitely the worst experience I have had in a hostel in a long time. After traveling since 3am arrived to find that despite multiple confirmations thru email on 4 bed private dorm with ac, they had messed up our booking. Tried to put us in shared 5 bed dorm (without ac and 1 fan in the room) which we declined. They ended up putting us downstairs next to volunteer area in non ac room. I decided to cancel for the next two nights after we found dead cockroaches under the bed, trash hadn’t been emptied, and sand in the sheets. Immediately notified staff that would not be staying for following 2 nights due to their error as well as the state of the room. The new staff Harry attempted to have the manager waive the cancelation fee but they were insistent. Still charged me full price for private room W/ ac and bathroom and then would not waive the cancelation fee despite acknowledging complete error on their end.

Figured 1 night wouldn’t kill us. But dam should of completely canceled and went elsewhere. Staff stayed up parting with music blaring past 2am. Despite asking multiple staff for a fan for the scorching room we never seemed to get one. Spent the night sweating in dirty sheets with loud music. Won’t be back and don’t recommend this place if looking for a clean, restful place to stay while in puerto Vallarta.

We had SO much fun at Hostel Vallarta and I highly recommend a stay. Volunteers are friendly, helpful and everyone at the Hostel Vallarta was like a family during our 8 night stay. We made many friends.

Rooftop pancake and coffee breakfast is included in the cost of the stay. Additional breakfast items are at an additional cost when available. Some volunteers (Shana) will even cook traditional Jamaican jerk chicken and fish dinners which was an amazing treat for a very affordable price.

Be ready to have fun at Hostel Vallarta. Our first night upon arrival we were invited to a rooftop birthday party. As you can imagine, the tequila and fun was flowing very smoothly until 4am! Thankfully, we were on vacation and could sleep in as long as we needed to.

We stayed in Cafe Tacuba room which has AC and a King bed. However, the street noise while staying in Cafe Tacuba was not for the faint of heart. The shades in our room left a gap on the left side that allowed the street light outside the room to pierce right through the room at night directly into the eyes of the person sleeping on the left side of the bed. Valuables can be locked in an overhead closet if needed. Laundry service is available for a very affordable price.

Security is good and a room card key is required for entry into the locked gated lobby from street access. Security cameras are installed in all common areas for the security of everyone. We felt very safe staying at Hostel Vallarta.

We met SO many cool explorers from around the World while staying at Hostel Vallarta. This place has a special vibe. Malecon and playa access is only a few blocks away en el Centro which makes this a very desirable place to stay.

The beautiful and colorful artwork throughout the facility represents the culture, history and fabric of Mexico.

It's right in the center, so you have options of what ever you need around you. They are very helpful and they do some parties at night time where you can get to know people and have some fun. The decoration is amazing too !!!
