I was excited to dine at Alma. The ambience is welcoming. Unfortunately this could not over shadow the poor service and cooking. We were the only group for the evening, table of four. Started with cocktails, then ordered a high end bottle of red wine that i asked to be opened, which they did without me checking it first. Ok, i did not notice they put it in an ice bucket. Came time to drink it and they brought the ice bucket and set it on the table. First course was the scallops, which were poached... Hmmm. Next the smoked salmon, with cream cheese hmmm. I ordered the next high end Cabernet for dinner and luckily i asked to check before they opened, it was a Merlot from the same vineyard, the wrong wine. Steak was brought flash grilled (raw), pork was fair, duck breast was good, sea bass was good but they didn't have any sharp knife to cut the meat! Only dull butter knives. Need waiter training and improvement on the food. Sauces were good.
