El Mural de los Poblanos has and reputation for its traditional cuisine, which is true in paper, not so much in my experience.
I found the atmosphere to be beautiful and The menu selection quite authentic.
I wasn’t impressed however by the quality of their food or service, which is very unusual for a restaurant of it’s category. All dishes delivered at the same time (appetizers and entrances), slow service, bread and water that took forever, you get the idea. The deserts however were outstanding! Their flan lived up to expectations!
The restaurant also has a charming shop by the entrance which sells their moles, soaps and lotions (sample them in the toilets), Mezcal, and other local delicacies. Worth the stop.
It might have been a random not-so-good day at the restaurant, but in any case, my experience.
