This is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) hotels in Monterrey. It has beautiful construction. They rooms are cozy and very good for the rates charged. Wifi worked consistently. TV channel selection was very good.

Breakfast buffet was excellent, all seemed to be cooked from fresh ingredients, choices of Mexican dishes like Menudo and Pozole and made to order omelette.

Will stay again if the opportunity presents itself.

This hotel is my first choice when visiting Monterrey. The classical architecture is amazing, the staff are friendly and speak English, and you can’t beat the location. I love staying here!

This beautiful hotel is emblematic. It was built over 100 years ago and it keeps the elegance and glamour of the first days (as shown on their gallery and museum).
Very well taken care of. Clean and safe. Friendly and efficient staff. 100% recommended.

I really loved the outside of the building ever since I first saw it so I was excited to finally be staying 2 nights. The staff was very friendly and the lobby was very elegant. The first issue we encountered was the parking being across the street. We did not know that was the parking for the hotel because there were no signs. We found out the lot was not just for hotel guests but for the public in general. If you get your ticket stamped by the hotel then you don't have to pay. Also, there was a sign that said they were not responsible for any thefts or damages to your vehicle. One of the nights we came around midnight and no one was at the booth where they gave you a ticket so we parked there and the next day they did not ask for a ticket when we left. In the room, the sheets and pillows did seem clean, however things seemed a little unattended. The right window would not open and the curtains and windows were dirty. The chair in the room was also really old and squeaky.There was also a random flashing light at night when we turned off all the lights that we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Overall it was okay, but I think because of the parking I would stay somewhere else where we would feel more at ease about leaving the car.

It’s not the cleanest but it’s in a great location. The staff are great. Honestly it’s not worth the price. There are cheaper hotels in the vicinity. We found a roach in the room, hair in the shower, The rug wasn’t vacuumed. We asked the front desk to send someone to clean it but the person who came up to clean only made the bed.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

-Dirty rooms with mold on the curtains u0026 torn bed linen

-Very bad WiFi connection, even in their business center (it was impossible to work in the hotel)

-Restaurant/room-service is VERY limited, and they don’t serve at 09.45 PM while it states to be open until 10.00 PM

-No vegetarian options on the menu

-Staff doesn’t speak English

-Poor shower and the bath stop was missing

-The area is not safe in the evening hours

Positive: An architectural jewel, they have dedicated themselves to providing a quality service like few others, super comfortable beds, quality sheets, four pillows, a great shower, excellent food and the disposition and service of the staff unbeatable Negative: Nope
