To conclude, I would like to kindly suggest to the authorities that they consider establishing incentives for voluntary blood donation, since it is actually a very important act of exercising citizenship.
In other countries these exist, for example a voluntary donor does not need to get donors in case of an emergency, which is not a small thing. Donors have their card and can do so -following the established protocols- at least twice a year, contributing significantly to the preparation of necessary blood derivatives even in the event of natural disasters, such as earthquakes, for example. El pasado 18/08/2022 estuve donando sangre para un familiar. Quiero decir que las indicaciones previas (fui el día anterior para confirmar qué tenía que hacer y a qué hora debía llegar a donar) que son ofrecidas por el personal de policía que resguarda el acceso al edificio -son super amables, la verdad-, fueron adecuadas y bastante precisas.
Sin embargo, les faltó mencionar que el día de la donación, desde el momento que le indican a la persona donante entrar al edificio siguiendo la numeración establecida afuera desde mucho más temprano, hasta terminar la donación transcurren cuatro (4!) horas más o menos.
Entiendo que el proceso de verificación de la donación es algo demorado, porque es necesario constatar que tanto la sangre donada como la persona donante están en condiciones óptimas, pero tal vez podrían revisarse los procesos para hacerlos más ágiles. Soy donante voluntaria desde hace muchos años y creo que esta vez fue la más tardada.
Para finalizar, quisiera sugerir amablemente a las autoridades que consideren establecer estímulos para la donación voluntaria de sangre, ya que en realidad es un acto de ejercicio de ciudadanía muy importante.
En otros países estos existen, por ejemplo un/una donante voluntario/a no necesita conseguir donantes en casos de tener una emergencia, que no es poca cosa. Las personas donantes cuentan con su carnet y pueden hacerlo -siguiendo los protocolos establecidos- al menos 2 veces por año, contribuyendo de manera importante con la elaboración de derivados sanguíneos necesarios incluso en caso de catástrofes naturales, como es el caso de los sismo, por ejemplo. Algo para reflexionar.
