Foodie Hostel is great! Safe location, close to various museums, and really friendly staff. Mercado has great food and service - easy to meet other travelers and socialize. The rooms are small and the bunk beds are quite low (difficult to get in and out of), so would not recommend to those who may need lots of personal space, as even three to a room can feel really cramped. Also keep in mind that during the weekend public events may be going on in the adjacent Mercado space, which will play music late into the night, so if you’re a light sleeper this is probably not the hostel for you. BUT if you are someone who will be spending most of your day exploring the city, this is the hostel for you - thanks for the great stay!

Location 5/5, very centric and ideal for exploring the city.

Customer service 5/5. Thoughtful, friendly and cheerful staff.

Sleeping arrangement 2/5. Rooms are very tight even by hostel standards, with three triple-level bunk beds per room. Beds are somewhat claustrophobic and it's easy to hit your head when moving around. Each bed has small locker for valuables and an outlet, which was nice. No lockers for bags, but there are secure rooms where you can store them and request access to.

Bathrooms/showers 3/5. Showers aren't bad, good water pressure and no shortage of hot water. No men's bathroom though, which means you need to walk through the adjacent food court to use their bathrooms. Its inconvenient, and the bathrooms aren't very clean.

Finally, music does play loudly in the food court until about 12 AM, which is highly bothersome. Quieter on Sundays.

In summary, it's not bad (certainly for the price), but the sleeping arrangement wasn't ideal. Not really a hostel for socializing given how tight everything is, however the location is perfect. The design is also nice - one of the better looking hostels I've slept in.

I had an absolute awesome time at this hostel!! Perfect Location to downtown Mexico City, parks, monuments, restaurants, and public transport! Super wonderful staff that will help with absolutely anything you need and it was kept extremely clean (like the rest of the city)! The vibe of the people were great as well. Foodie has an entire upstairs with amazing Mexican food and drinks!! Everything about this Hostel was excellent! I will definitely be back-- thanks for everything!

It’s an interesting place because it’s connected to a hipster food court. The common area is literally the food court so that’s kinda cool. But other then that there’s no place to chill really besides your bed. The only minus is you share the bathroom with the food court... so if using a public bathroom bothers you it’s probably not your spot.

With prior understanding that this place holds the best bang for your buck, it’s erroneous to judge it by the perks it could have. Ultimately, if they add those things the price wouldn’t be the same. Good location and each member of the staff is amazing, from the smiling cleaning crew, to the life saving Juan, and the lovely Andrea... thank you for treating me as well as you did during my stay. ❤️

Everything was okay, even the small pod hostel type rooms with really no room for your belongings. Expected if a hostel yes but the showers were yellow (blue tiles) with stained shower curtains that looked like they have never been cleaned. The entire hostel seemed well cleaned except for the showers.

The location is great and the staff courteous, there are plenty of food shops inside the building so you do not have to go far. The beds and the rooms are very small, making it difficult to get organized in the room. The beds are uncomfortable and feel more like cells.
