This restaurant is at the top of the Gran Hotel. This hotel was a filming location for a James Bond movie. It was also an inspiration for some of the scenes in Coco. To get to the restaurant go into the lobby and turn right. Once the host confirms there is a table, the host will take you up the old elevator that looks out over the lobby. It's beautiful. The views from the restaurant are gorgeous.

The food was very good. I had the zucchini fettuccine with a water and coffee. I need to learn their recipe!

This is where the restaurant shines even more. The service from beginning to end was fantastic. Everyone was super friendly. I actually made a very airheaded error this evening (I won't tell you what I did) but they were so gracious in how they responded. Even before that I would have rated their service as excellent. I can't say enough good things about how they treated me. I will definitely return when possible.

Thank you Terraza Gran Hotel!

This restaurant is at the top of the Grand Hotel. It gives you the view of the Mexican flag and the cathedral. The food and service was excellent. We ordered a cucumber and takin margarita and a drink with gin, cucumber, and rosemary. Both were amazing! The food was delicious. Ordered the black ink squid pasta that came with salmon abs shrimp. My wife ordered the plate with picaña, octopus, chicken, chistorra, and potatoes. Highly recommend and definitely will return.

Location, views, and atmosphere! Food was delicious, We recently visited Mexico City and asked out Hotel concierge for a place with a nice view and delicious food, he made a reservation for us, The Terrazza restaurant was able to sit our party of 7 the same day within a couple of hours. I would totally recommend to enjoy a meal, and a hibiscus mezcalita.

If you are looking for a friendly staff, good food and a nice view, Terraza at Gran Hotel is the place, I loved the food the service and definitely the view, thanks to Lazaro and Rogelio that made our celebration very special as well to the Manager Ruben that was always happy to help with our pictures ????

The cowboy steak was absolutely awesome for two. Lean just enough to be great rare-done, yet still with some fat to taste very good. Add their asparagus, a bottle of Casa Madero 3V and the date night is unbeatable ????

Bella Alaska (ask for a fork) and Tarta de Manzana are optional, but highly recommended.

Just go in and snap a few pics of this beautiful lobby and go somewhere else to spend your money. The hotel staff who is in charge of getting you up to the restaurant are very rude. At one point during our brief conversation with them my girlfriend and I looked at each other then looked at them and said “ no gracias “ smiled and walked off.
Terrible hospitality…

DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT, stay away from this tourist trap. We came to the Terraza around 4:30 PM. The waiting staff got all defensive when we told them we wanted to seat next to the balcony which is the thing to do at this place. They really put on a big show claiming that they had reservations booked. None of that, at least 3 vacant tables for a while. Sometime later after we got reassigned they all behaved bad really and turned very hostile. Food is ok, definitely not worth the inflated prices. They ruined my meal with their cheap tactics: if waiters feel they will get a big check they'll treat you nice, if they feel they won't they will treat you bad really bad. Ended up having a super nice meal at the ancient and traditional Café Tacuba, waaaay better in all aspects.
