Pros:
- Good location, in a safe area, near many restaurants.
- Bed with a firm mattress.
Cons:
- Wi-Fi is unreliable, very unstable, not suitable for working, having meetings, etc. Simple things like watching YouTube videos is enervating.
- Apartment is poorly illuminated to the point it is uncomfortable to cook or perform any general tasks.
- Air-conditioning is quite old and noisy.
- Kitchen poorly equipped.

Cold. Dark. Super humid, even in the dry season. Staff barely polite.
We nicknamed the place "The Sinister Icecube".
I got food poisoning in the Pain Quotidien and the hotel was so bad I had to book another one for one night of good rest, despite a tight budget. We slept in the park during the day, because it was more comfortable than the hotel. The place is safe and clean, the shower is hot, but those are the only goods points.

If I could leave a negative star, I would. I asked the receptionist if the room was the same as the pictures, she assured me, “the pictures don’t lie.” When I checked in, I arrived to the room, it smelled rancid, I would have to add water to the jacquzi on the pato which looked like it was falling apart. The doors to the patio were falling down. There were holes behind a black trash bag hanging over a open door with a mirror in front of it. There were live cables with sparks hanging out of the wall were the lamp next to the bed had fallen.

I asked the receptionist to cancel my reservation and left immediately without using or touching anything. She refused. This room was NOT ready to be rented.

I will be filing a formal complaint with the tourism secretary for Mexico City.

The security guard later told me that the positive reviews were paid reviews.

DO NOT STAY HERE.

This was modest priced (800 pesos per night) hotel in the center of Mexico City, about 7 blocks from the Angel de Independencia. It was clean and the staff was friendly. It was hard to find but we were a block from the Melchor O'Campo Plaza. No breakfast but there was a good restaurant (Doña Blanca) near the hotel. There was no street noise but everything happening near the front desk could be heard everywhere due to weird layout of central atriums on each floor. The basement also transmitted noise and when the washing machine was on it sounded like a huge industrial machine. It was horrible. The drier was audible but not noisey. They turned them off after 9 p.m. Good maid service. But the hotel was stingy on towels, soap and toilet paper. There were no soap trays in the shower so you had to pick up the soap from the floor. There was no soap dish at the sink either. The TV did not work very well. The bed had a firm mattress and was comfortable except it was shorter than a standard bed and my feet extended out over the floor. The suite was fairly roomy. There was a shortage of electrical outlets.

We stayed here two times. The first time was okay so we decided to come back. But this time there was no toilet seat and it wouldn't installed the whole 2 days while we stayed there... Unfortunately there was even no refund or the chance to make a late check out without additional charging. I would definitely not recommend it. The cooking plates need about 25-30 min to make pasta because they are really slow. Kitchen equipment is not good as well and the blankets could be more clean as well (blood on it)

No water provided. No electric kettle provided. No telephone to call front desk. The sheets were not changed. There was bright lights in the hallway that were never turned off and shined through my window constantly. The tile in the shower was very sharp and uncomfortable to stand on.

My bedroom had a dual curtain rack, one for a light curtain and one for a heavy one and the heavy (thicker) curtain was missing. Light was entering my room at night from hotel lamps.

The bathroom faucet comes out of the wall and over a sink that's a bowl shape but doesn't go far enough to the center of the bowl. The water comes close to the edge so if you don't tiny baby hands, they will be rubbing against the sink.

Because of the shower design, you can't turn on the water without getting hit by the initially cold water.

It was spacious however, but I don't recommend it. Also the staff don't speak English.
