i stayed for about a week and had a decent enough experience but there are a few things that would prevent me from staying again, at least for a longer stay.

pros: majority of the staff is very friendly and accommodating, rooms are clean and modern, breakfast included, decent location

cons: the power went out for a few hours in the middle of the night and since the doors are powered by electricity and have no manual locks- my room door would not lock and i did not feel comfortable sleeping there alone without a lock. it’s also important to note that they do not have AC and there is very little circulation in most of the rooms because they face the internal “courtyard” and there’s no access to outside fresh air. so the air is very stagnant besides a small floor fan.

Went with a group of girls for a day pass, facials, and massages. The onsen was so relaxing and fun, especially with the included sushi and the bottle of champagne we added. The tea was delicious, and the facial products were to die for. I didn’t get a massage but the girls loved that too. I’d recommend a day here very highly!

Booked directly with hotel for their room with the tatami mat a month before arriving and on the day of arrival they put us in a downgraded regular room. They wouldn't explain how this happened and did try to make it up to us, but I'm still upset months later when I think about the experience. Don't trust them to honor reservations for specific room types. Also, the rooms get very hot and stuffy as there is no circulation or air conditioning and the restrooms smell. Looks good on instagram but that's about it. Can't recommend and will not return.

We had an incredibly lovely stay here complete with a spa experience and a must try omakase meal!! The omakase was an intimate chefs table experience with a local chef and all of the ingredients were so fresh and delicious. The chef was very skilled and knowledgable, and a delight to speak with during our meal. He was also very patient with our limited Spanish. Truly a once in a lifetime experience in such a tranquil space and a fantastic value for such an incredible meal. Highly recommend staying here and taking advantage of the experiences!

Absolutely lovely hotel! So well designed and maintained. Staff is kind. The rooms are spacious and the rooftop tubs are super cool. This place is 10/10 Instagram worthy. It’s effortlessly stunning. Very cute new cafe across the street (Nice Day) that was great to have nearby.

I loved my stay at ryo kan. It was pleasant, dependable, clean and had an excellent staff. You have to like app based programming as doors, blinds and lights are generally controlled by an app. The space was ample for a 2 night stay and everything was clean and in great working condition. I also tried the massage which was honestly mediocre and at $72 us I can’t write home about it. The front desk ladies speak English and are extremely helpful. It’s located in a safe and quiet neighborhood next to some really cool new spots like Tokyo music bar. There’s a new Asian inspired cafe that just opened up across the street that’s super convenient for a quick morning coffee and pastry. It’s around a 25 min walk to Roma or a quick Uber ride. I prefer staying out of Roma and experiencing a more “normal” stay. I’m glad I found them and took a chance because they’ve exceeded my expectations and the room looks better than in pictures. I didn’t get to try the onsen but did see them and they looked clean. The continental breakfast was a nice touch and prepared in a way that even though it was just fruit, bread and yogurt, you felt like it was a better experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again when in cdmx. The property is pristine and the front desk is there 24 hours so you don’t have to worry about coming back late.

Cute Japanese inspired boutique hotel in the Juarez neighborhood. There are only 10 rooms, so it feels very personal. Complimentary breakfast each morning consists of coffee u0026 tea, fresh cut fruit, yogurt / granola, and bread. Feels like a refuge away from the busy city.
