I joined an all-day tour of southern Mexico City (Coyoacan, Frida Kahlo museum, and Xochimilco) and this boat ride was included in the tour. The full day tour was roughly $40 USD, but if you go on your own a one hour boat ride should cost $500 pesos or less. The ride through the canals is enjoyable with several food and entertainment options on the water. While I'm glad I went to the canals, I don't feel it's a must-do experience for those coming to Mexico City.

Wow what a crazy and magical place - when in CDMX it’s a must! Be careful for scams and order a boat ahead

Great time to rent boat and chill. You can a chill boat with just you and one person or even have a big old party on your boat. You can drink eat and have mariachis play. They have boats on the river that serve drinks and food. Just make sure you cash. The market is nice and prices can be negotiated. Food is good. They even have a small show where they climb the pole and spin from a rope while they play music.

Wow! Just Wow! So much fun! The boats are colorful, and the food is great. Expect some one to try and sell you something every 2 minutes.

Wonderful experience. Come with a big group because it will be lots of fun. Bring your own food and drinks. If you didn’t, you will find some along the way. There are boats selling food and drinks.
Music is a must so if you didn’t bring your speaker, they have some for rent.
The after moon 2-4 ride is nice and felt safe.
The boats rides are a lot of fun. They can be for an hour or more. I did two and it was more than enough.
There are a few places to stop for the restroom at 35 pesos.

We had the most delightful time! The cost was very reasonable at $25 USD per hour per boat (NOT PER PERSON)! One would think that this would be very touristy but we saw more locals than tourists. The ride down the canal is very interesting. You can get on and off at different shops, restaurants and attractions along the canal. You can hire a Mariachi Band to serenade you on your way. There are also "floating vendors" that will come to your boat and offer things such as elote, full lunches, sodas, beer and all sorts of souvenirs.

A lovely attraction, a little difficult to get to for a short ride.
While eating on the boat is. Avery quaint idea I would say it's worth eating at a taco stand before hand as a meal on the boat will set you back about 200pesos as opposed to 20.

Best to pair up with other tourists as the price is per hour and not per person. It'll set you back 500 pesos, maybe 400 if you haggle.

The mariachi bands Are a nice addition for only 150 pesos
