CREEPY BUT INTERESTING. The trip by boat is very long, more or less 6 hours the round-trip.

It has lot of dolls hanging around with a history. They charge 50 pesos to visit this place and not worth more than 5-10 mins of exploration time. ( Compared with museums in Mexico where they charge 80 pesos for 2-5 hrs of exploration time).
Unless you have ample time to explore and gets intrigued by the dolls, you can skip. There is a Another mock site that they are building just close to draw bridge .. I personally think locals are trying to exploit tourists with these attractions.

We had a fun time here. The new owner is a lot of fun. We had a great tour guide on the way there to navigate the canals. Would recommend if you're into creepy tourist attractions. It's definitely and experience. There are reportedly a few similar attractions in the area

Excellent collection of creepy and weathered dolls, the owners will tell the story of the dolls, clarifying that they are not there to scare but rather to ward off bad spirits that drowned a small girl 50 or 60 years ago. People can take their own dolls as donation, if they are chosen they are put up with the other dolls. Be prepared to take about 2 hours of your ride going out and back, as the island is a bit far off from the usual places, but well worth the visit.

Good sight if you got some spare time. I went there by Uber starting from La Reforma Ave. The Uber cost about 160 Mex Pesos (15 Mex Pesos u003d 1.00 Us$) and took 35mins to get to the embarcadero Cuemanco where you arrange a Trajinera (boat) to take you to your trip. The "Trajinera owner" charged us 1400 Mex pesos for 3 people as we wanted a short private 2 hour trip with 2 trajinera's men to row us faster. The regular trip would last 4 hs long with only one rower.
You have the option to arrange a large group or to join on a forming group once you are there to make it cheaper.
The canal is quite peaceful on the weekdays, a bit filthy with not much to see. Bring your own drinks and snacks as you might be bored within your 50mins drive up to the island. You have the chance to take some pics rowing the boat with this long wooden stick which was quite fun.
Once you get off the boat they charge you 5 mex pesos per person to land in the island.
I gave them 5.00 Us$ for the 3 of us and off course no change back. Bring change.
The island of the dead dolls was interesting in a way but very small, dirty and the story teller man who identified himself as being the nephew of the owner who started the legends, told us a brief 5 mins story about his uncle. After hearing the story you're free to take pics around. The place is very informal with no infrastructure at all, it definitely needs some cleaning and organization.

It was creepy as heck, even though we were there during daylight hours. It's a small little place but there are dolls EVERYWHERE! The guide gave a little presentation of background info which was interesting. And then you just walk around, take pictures, check out the dolls. Some have been there for decades, others are more recent, they're all creepy. They do have a primitive bathroom but it's better than nothing. Unfortunately they don't have much of a gift shop (that's the only thing I think needs improvement), and pictures don't do it much justice. Very interesting.

Erie and serene. Worth visiting with a group, would not go alone. Definitely bring pesos for the Island to get entry and pay for a tour. The locals are very helpful.
