We had a great time there! It was such a beautiful old world favor inside with the detailed painting and architectural details. Live Mexican music and all. The fried red snapper was a little dry, but maybe ask them to fry it less time. The onion soup was different than was expected, but tasted good. The Caeser salad was good. We didn't try their beef dishes. The prices were reasonable. Maybe the red snapper was a little high from what we have been paying.

Delicious food, fantastic service, the best restaurant in our trip to Mexico City! It was a dream to go and sit in the best seat in the house, right under Pancho Villa's historical bullet hole! The service was so amazing and the food was honestly WOW! LOVED IT!

We had a really good experience at La Opera. I got the enchiladas with mole sauce on top. The 2 cocktails shown are a mojito and a Manhattan. We paid about $15 per person drinks included which was a very good deal. Also live mariachi the day we were there.

La Opera Bar is decidedly the most opulent cantina, opening up in 1876 as an upscale pastry shop for the well-heeled by two French sisters. Hand-carved from solid walnut, this imported bar from New Orleans has been graced by well-known Mexicans including just about all the Mexican presidents and bandit-turned-general Pancho Villa who fired his gun into the ceiling back in 1914 and, if you ask nicely, they will show you the hole still there. I like this place because it offers a great selection of drinks, and the staff is impeccable. If you sit at the bar and order a drink, they generally throw in complimentary chips with bean dip.

Old school bar with lots of history..enjoyed tequilas and beers here with good service! Took a picture of hole in the ceiling where Pancho Villa fired his pistol!

One of my favorite dining spots in CDMX. Food is the highest quality, with selections not offered anywhere else.
