More than expected! Very clean small room with ample bathroom. Helpful front desk although all in spanish. One block from Metro Bus station that runs directly to Reforma. A couple of blocks from Mercado Beethoven that has excellent affordable food, fruit and juice stalls. Quiet and secure. Ask for Airport taxi service to avoid pricey independents. This area is not in the hip neighborhoods frequented by the millennial crowd and the like, so the same night time precautions that rule Mexico in general apply.

Pro-
Beautiful, comfortable small rooms, extremely clean and sanitized. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Con-
Not a safe neighborhood, no one from staff speaks English. I tayed 2 SLEEPLESS nights. There was a lot of noise from knocking on doors throughout the entire night. At some point loud hitting on walls as if there was construction somewhere in the hotel. The activities throughout the entire night, the coming and going, was all very obvious by the noises through the thin walls.
They do NOT have a shuttle service, you are paying for a private taxi
I will never stay there again.

I would give the hotel 0 stars if the option was available to me. First, the hotel is in a uninviting area. Granted, the free parking was the only thing good about the hotel. We came to the room, and first the smell of the room was unbearable. The bed was like a rock, NO comfort. The bathroom was smelly and unclean. They left us ONE semi-clean towel for 2 guests. Also there was zero service. The walls are very thin. You can hear every noise throughout the entire hotel. The WiFi was free but barely functioning. There is NO TRANSPORTATION TO THE AIRPORT. Do NOT book this hotel! Saving money isn’t worth it! We literally left after 20 minutes of sitting and debating whether or not to leave. They also didn’t refund us. Don’t do it.

I stayed in hotel Villa Del Mar from August 9-16th, 2019 on the 3rd floor. This hotel is excellent, clean, economical and has good staff. Cleaning staff was able to help me with any request and always kept my room so clean and perfectly stocked. Excellent price and close to bus and metro stops. I highly recommend this hotel and will return when visiting again!
