If you’ve read my other reviews, you know I’m a tough customer. One of the challenges I’ve had while living in Mexico City and eating out is the overly salty, overly sweet or overly greasy nature of 90% of the food I’ve had here, no matter how affordable or how expensive the restaurant (and I eat out often).
Enter this bistro which happens to be literally two blocks from my house and I somehow never came across it in almost one year of living here.
They have the subtlety, finesse and presentation of some of the best 5-star places I’ve been to around the world. The service is top notch! Vicky and Lari provided the type of service you get at a white tablecloth American restaurant (which have some of the highest standards of service in the world).
The house wine is quite good and reasonably priced compared to the ridiculous prices you see for wine at most CDMX restaurants. I ordered the spinach salad which was not amazing but very light and healthy (truly healthy food is hard to come by in Mexico City). It could’ve used some balsamic vinegar bc it was a bit on the sweet side but enjoyable. However, the vegetarian pasta with eggplant (forgot name of dish) was out of this world!
One of the best dishes I’ve tasted in a long long time and it combined perfectly with the house Cabernet. I let the servers know to compliment the chef! I will definitely be back again and again until I depart Mexico City in two months. I highly recommend this restaurant!
