Home made bread and a nice cozy atmosphere. The soups are incredible. We also asked for the French dip to share and it was a good portion.

Cozy - dim light restaurant, great place for dates. The menu is varied and they have various dishes with official embassy recipes (Pad Thai - Thailand for example) which is interesting. I recommend the shrimp/octopus ceviche and the burrata. The chicken curry was okay - nothing special. However all of our other dishes tasted great. Loved their bread plus you can buy for take away. Fair prices.

Much of this changed with the pandemic, the food was rather normal, the care regular, the breads and pastas were no longer fresh and the cocktails rather poor. Possibly the pandemic affected the staff and chef they had previously, and I hope that Alacena can recover to the pre-pandemic level.
