If you love trains you have to come here! A great little museum of old trains. You can climb up and explore into each train - great fun! $30 peso entry.

Good value for $30 pesos per adult. You can go inside the rail cars which is neat, but there’s not much historical information in Spanish (and none in English or other languages). You can find some info about N de M and other railroad history online.

Showed up, place had been closed for a while but the security guard after speaking with a co-working let us in for a bit more than the ticket price.

The grass was pretty tall around the train cars and the wife didn't have the shoes on to be climbing around a big boy toys so I had at it for a while.

The museum of course wasn't open, neither the caboose with the train set. But I got to climb around things and take lots of pictures. If you do get in you very much have to be careful of falling through a rotted floor or having a staircase or ramp fail. Normal for the area.

One of the cooler things we did in Merida. Could of spend 1/2 a day hear easily

Definetely to visit. Entrance is 20 pesos. It has parking. Toilet has problems (at the time didnt work). It is situated in opened area, field, so it is hot to walk around, when sun is up high. The museum has like 50 wagons of different kind, from different times. You can climb in, sit, touch- everything is allowed, except climb to the roof (for safety reasons). Some wagons is from USA. Some look alike. Some look like from cartoon. And the oldest one is from 1890, the private one, is under reconstruction, you cant see what's inside. Worth visiting.

The railroad museum is indeed open again! We visited today (on a Friday) A lot of neat old locomotives and passenger cars and very cheap entrance fee

Interesting place to learn about the history of trains in Mexico. Run by volunteers. Many trains are in poor condition but they are trying to refurbish them. If you like trains it's worth visiting

This was a good way to spend a day. The entrance is through a guarded gate that seems like it is closed but is not. The guard will point you to the ticket stand / table and staff. You will need small cash as there may not be a great deal of change with the staff.

The site can be warm so a water or refreshment is advisable. There was nothing there during our visit.

We chose to take a taxi to the site and the bus back to Centro at the Mercado in Centro.

I enjoyed walking around and inside many of the train cars that have been collected. The cars and engines are from Canada, USA and Mexico. Some are in poor shape, others are accessible for viewing. The volunteer staff were helpful and provided a starting point for our self directed tour.

There are photos in one car and a large model HO train track being built with lots of interesting miniature buildings, lights, people and more.

This is a train buffs delight for sure.

Enjoy.
