I took a private double-bad room upstairs. I highly recommend this hostel, which is run by a lovely couple Emilio and Daniela(not sure how to spell the name, sorry), they are very friendly and helpful with any information. They list popular several restaurants/bars/coffees, and we went 2 of the restaurants and they are indeed good (acceptable price and good quality in terms of food or service). The breakfast is very healthy (milk with flakes, fruits, bread and coffee) in buffet style. The room is simple (don't expect a fancy room with the price, but a A/C is of course equipped) but clean enough for a backpacker. Hot water is available for a shower. I'm 100% satisfied with what they offer, and definetly come back again next time.

El Mayab is a nice, comfortable hostel. Plenty of places to lounge inside and out. Bathrooms are clean, though showers could use a pressure boost. Use the one on the left (ladies) :)
Staff are very nice, helpful and have a lot of info about the sites, city and getting around.
Ohh... and there is a nice breakfast, hot water and air conditioning in the dorm rooms.
Also, just around the corner from ADO main terminal.
Great value!! Would definitely recommend!

The owner went above and beyond giving me a hat when it was hot outside, a king sure I had water and Sunscreen. Rooms clean, beds comfortable, and wifi excellent. Other staff super friendly. Very close to bus station. Square and market close. Very peaceful place.

Nice hostel near by the city center in Merida. Have been to better hostels but price wise it is good. From evening till morning the airconditioning is turned on. What I don't like is that there are only two showers and toilets available for each gender. Could be pretty annoying when it is fully booked. Besides that is is a 30 meter walk from the rooms. Don't expect more than cereals, milk, toast, jam and coffee for the free included breakfast.

I didn’t stay here but when my situation changed right after I made my booking they were super cool and waived the cancellation fee for me which was pretty nice so five stars for that.
