My husband and I were going to eat at a restaurant nearby, as we were close to the entrance we were approached by a man asking about our visit, where we were from, etc. He told us that we should try his restaurant instead of the one we were about to enter and told us to follow him. Obviously thrown off and wary of a man trying to get us to follow him, we kindly told him we were okay and to have a good night. He was extremely kind and told us he could promise a great meal but understood us being uncomfortable, he was not pushy at all, and welcomed us to Merida anyways. Being the gambling girl I am, I looked at my husband and said "Why not? Let's give it a try!"

I am so glad we did! It was an unusually quiet night, so we had the patio to ourselves and it was magical! The service was AMAZING, probably the best in our whole trip to Mexico. The food was great and the margaritas were fantastic! Definitely recommend!

I have a feeling the waiter pushed us towards a dish he felt was safe to serve Americans. It was ok, but I watched as the local diners we're served far more interesting dishes than we had. Understandable but disappointing. Not all of us gringos want boring food.

The place is gorgeous. Drinks were good. Service was prompt.

The food was salty, service was inattentive (I had to ask several times just to get water) and I was overcharged for an item as well. there was also a fall down - literally, drunk that just let walk around the dining area, bumping into tables, people and finally, after breaking some of the artwork and letting him just sit on the floor in the middle of the entrance for a few minutes, they pulled him out of the place. not a great dining experience.

The experience was not bad at the restaurant, except for a mezcal that was supposed to be fancy and tasted very regular and cheap.
The real killer was afterwards since everyone who ordered the pasta got sick, fever, chills and stomach flu. Unacceptable.

Great food, great service, great music in a great atmosphere! We found this place after having a horrible meal and experience in the restaurant upstairs, and boy are we glad we did!. The food was fantastic, the wait staff was friendly and provided great service, the music was really good and it was such a nice and relaxing atmosphere.

Service is nice and cocktails are good. it has an inside hall with nice lights for a good dinner nearby the most popular historic spots at Merida's downtown
