Depends how you rate hotels, but in my experience the hotel is pretending to be something it's not. I would say it's a 3 star hotel.
Great Mexican breakfast with a huge variety of options if you speak Spanish. Dinner menu is in English and staff understand a little bit of English but would be preferable if you can communicate in Spanish.
Lobby looks fancy and staff were wonderful taking our bags to our room and calling taxis for us.
The rooms were nice. Big bed, nice shower and big sink area. Liked having a safe, and a bench to open our suitcase on.
Liked having a coffee machine in the room and the water topped up everyday.
Our neighbors decided to party at 3.30am but after we rang reception staff quickly appeared at their door and stopped them.
The lifts are SLOW and few. I'm pregnant and ended up using the stairs everyday because it was quicker to go up and down 4 floors!
The walls are thin and you can hear every bang, footstep and conversation that goes on outside even if it's not outside your room. And if anyone is having a bit of hanky panky you can hear that too.
Toilet paper is thin.
We were given a towel stained with mascara on our second day.
The shower heads desperately need de-scaling.
They don't clean the floors well. On our first day I walked bare foot and ended up filthy and with someone's long black hair stuck to my foot.
Children do run up and down the corridors.
The room next to the elevators isn't pleasant for noise levels.
Some light switches didn't do anything.
We had two card keys that didn't work and the door was sticky and hard to open, not great when you're pregnant.
Staff start Knocking on doors about 9:45 if you like to sleep in.
Check in was SLOOW.
Definitely trying to appear to be fancier than it is. Need Spanish to have a comfortable time (not a complaint just a warning).
