Staff is great but management, installations and amenities not so much.. One major tip, do not stay in the rooms near the back of the property, it borders with another property guarded by 3 barking dogs, they literally never stopped barking and it sounded like they were inside the room. We had to switch rooms in the middle of the night it was so bad. Wifi is painfully slow (if it decides to connect). The T.V. is old and only has cable, so no streaming platforms available. The kitchen is not really a kitchen, plus they don't provide plates, forks, glasses, etc. unless you beg the front desk for them. Be ready to leave a large deposit for their security (the total deposit we had to leave was more than the amount we paid to stay there, such a joke). Overall, I'd avoid this place.

1 month before arriving at Demetria we communicated with the hotel to tell them we were getting married the day before our stay and were staying one night at Demetria before going to the airport for our honey moon the day after. I asked them if they could decorate the room with some flower petals or something for us and they said yes (but this did not end up happening). My husband is from Guadalajara and had heard many great things about the hotel, I saw photos and it looked so romantic and artistic so we paid the 250 USD for one night. It was something we were very excited about. When we got to the hotel we heard booming music and they told us there was a pool party upstairs. And that we could get in free if we wanted to. We were exhausted from our wedding and wanted to take a bath and a nap in the beautiful room before going for dinner and coming back for the night. The music was vibrating the walls and we heard screaming and shouting that lasted all day. We got there at 3 o’clock and the party went until 10 pm. We tried to nap but had to put music, white noise, and run the bath in order to not hear the music so loud. But even then the room was still vibrating with the bass. We went out to dinner and came back to the same noise. We turned on a movie to distract from the noise and get to sleep to get up early for the airport in the morning. The music finally died down and then in the room next to us 5 minutes later the party continued for some. The music was heard even louder next door then it was at the rooftop pool party. We had to call reception and they got it turned off and we went to bed, but again at 1 am it started and we called again. In the morning we left to the airport feeling like our money was not well spent. Demetria was a very beautiful hotel, but we wish our stay would have gone differently. We were dissapointed. We wish the hotel would have contacted us ahead of time tell us about the pool party and give us another option to stay another night.

Lovely staff, who are incredibly accommodating and without a doubt the best part.

However for a hotel with so much hype, it doesn't really live up to its reputation or pricing.

Its incredibly dark throughout, with little to no lighting throughout the communal areas.

The rooms are comfortable, but not well thought out in terms of layout.. Also key items missing from a hotel of this standard. Hair Dryer, Iron and board all had to be asked for, which doesn't make sense.

The pool was ice cold, so we decided to give that a miss.

It's an ok place if you love a super cold pool. Also security will take any booze from you. You can't even take any into your room. So you are forced to buy their 3X over priced booze. Not recommended if you want to enjoy yourself.

This is a boutique hotel with modern eclectic designed place. One side of the 10 + storey building is made with clear glass from floor to ceiling. Each room is individually decorated with a unique blend of modern style with some local and traditional Mexican furniture. It's not made for families with small kids. It will be not comfortable and lacks bathroom privacy needed with teenagers and children alike.
Breakfast was okay with eggs and meats and cereal. Blah blah.
Take a tour of the hotel and get to know history good to spend 30-45 minutes with in house guest relations manager.
Located in a quite upper class area of the town. About 10 - 15 min by taxi from Central.

Absolutely amazing hotel. I would recommend this over any big hotel chain. Friendly and welcoming staff. Superb design makes you feel like you entered a artistic maze. Rooms clean and really nice as well. Comfortable bed and the view from the higher floors is just immense. Great local foods in the restaurant!

Before traveling, I booked the "suite demetria" (the presidential suite), paid in full, nonrefundable, with breakfast included. Upon arriving, I showed the receptionist my confirmation email, which clearly said "suite demetria." I was told that they couldn't honor the reservation because the price I paid online wasn't enough. After two hours and speaking the manager, I was told definitively that they wouldn't honor my reservation and offered a room with no outdoor space and only one window looking directly at a wall. I was also told that they didn't offer breakfast, so they couldn't honor that part of my reservation. I was surprised to the see catalogue in the room said breakfast was included in the rate of their rooms, and the next morning, sure enough, breakfast was offered. The manager told me the catalogue was old and I would have to pay for breakfast. This included coffee, as they don't offer coffee makers or free coffee. The pool was open but had bugs and deck wasn't tended. The air conditioner in our room was also broken the first night and day, and the room had no fans, which made it difficult to sleep.
