The 4/5 rating is for the delicious Maya Cacao Chocolate bars because they were great! They come in many different flavors and have quite a few samples out for you to try. I'd say my favorite were the orange, lemon and coconut. They were all so smooth and rich!

Unfortunately, what I actually ended up purchasing wasn't quite as satisfying. The coconut macaron had too much crunch and not enough chew. And the orange truffle - while the ganache on the inside was totally delicious, the chocolate shell tasted oddly waxy.

But definitely go pick up a few bars of chocolate!

We took a class here and it was so informative! We even got to grind cacao beans and drink it as hot cocoa. Delicioso!

The BEST Mexican Hot Chocolate I've ever tasted. But also an excellent selection of other food, all prepared right there from fresh ingredients. Teresa and crew we're great, and patiently taught me a lot about chocolate. I have a newfound respect for the humble cocoa bean.

You can sign up for a 90minute workshop about Mayan cacao. Dean talks about the history of chocolate, the process behind making chocolate, and Mayan culture. It ends with a hands-on experience of extracting nibs and making chocolate paste. You can use it to make your own chocolate drink!

It's a slow paced, relaxing experience and you get to ask a lot of questions and learn about the culture if you're interested.

I drank the Mayan chocolate made with water and no sugar. While bitter and not tasting good (I intentionally did not use the honey offered to sweeten the drink), I drank the entire cup and was pleased with the effect. I noticed an increase in body temperature and reduction of pain/inflammation. It was a benefit I did not expect. I hope you offer this mixture for sale online soon, I will be a regular customer. Thank you!

This is the place to go if you have an adventurous palate! The Maya hot chocolate is delicious. It's not a sweet drink, instead it showcases the delicate flavors of pure chocolate mixed with success and hot water. The other thing tried was Pozol Maya, which is a frozen drink made from cornmeal, ice, and chocolate. Yes, it sounds weird but it's very good. The seating was comfortable, the ambiance was pleasant. Definitely a good place to try in Ensenada.
