Clean and busy plaza in the city center that features local vendors of all types, and a tourist information center. City bus tours and a tour of the underground tunnels (replica) begin at this location. There are also beautiful views of the local cathedral as well.

Great place for meeting with friend and go from there to different shops and boutiques, nice bars and restaurants nearby

Beautiful place!
If you're into little cities that still have the feel of historic times, you'll fall in love with the center of Durango.
Still, it offers a lot of modern stores, combined with the traditional Mexican experience.
You won't notice the stores as easily, because they're required by law to not be so flashy here, but it just adds to this really quaint place.
The ways to get there might be less lovely, per say, but it's still a really nice place to visit.

Very nice plaza! There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the day. The plaza is surrounded by all kinds of restaurants, coffee and ice cream shops, banks, museums and hotels all well within walking distance. City tours can be taken at this plaza also.

It's nice to walk around at first but vendors by the fountain are rude and will tell you to buy something and to stop looking at everything they are selling. They will rush you to buy something and comment on how they set up everything so beautifully and that you are messing it up by touching it. I was going to buy a lot of the nice matching jewelry they had to bring back to the United States but upon being told to buy without looking or touching I took my money elsewhere. DO NOT go there unless you want to be peddled for cash.

It's a beautiful place where you can always know and see many people. The underground mineral museum and the view of the cathedral make it more attractive indeed.
