Just ate at the bar and had excellent service and great food. I prefer to practice my Spanish and did my best and the bartender spoke back to me in Spanish. She was wonderful. I had the provolone appetizer and it was tasty, but did sit a couple minutes too long before serving. The house bread and chimichurri was also good. I was a wuss for the spicier sauces. The bartender (I wish I got her name) explained them each to me, since all four are different flavors. I also had the salmon cooked medium and it was ???? My Gu0026T made with Gin Mare was also perfect. Can't wait to go back. The bar is the place to sit!

We went there for our first wedding anniversary. Service and food was OK. They didn’t have a drink menu. They knew it was our first wedding anniversary because I told them when I made the reservation. Seating was behind a concrete column so we had an obstructed view of the water. The ambience is fun for a group but not for a romantic dinner of two. Our server got obviously upset at the bus boy which is not professional in my opinion. The margaritas were very good on the first round but second round wasn’t consistent. The oysters were served with soy sauce, lemon, cilantro, and onions which was genius! The marrow was also good. The Cesar salad had full romaine leaves, so just bear in mind that you’re chopping your own salad but the croutons were good.
Their portions are just right. Food had nice presentation. They have an attractive food menu. I was going to order the Kobe steak but after seeing the service, I didn’t trust that 18 pesos per gram would be well spent at this place. So I went with the safer option of seared tuna. It was Ok and I’m glad I didn’t order the steak.

The food was just ok. The service was really bad. Only one waiter knows English. The minute we set down a large mineral water was served without asking, and at the check we saw that it is expensive. We waited 45 minutes for the food and 15 just to get the bill. We ordered one steak that was good and we were asked to choose a side dish that only at the check we learned that it isn’t part of the dish. We also ordered a risotto with beef filet, the risotto was nice but the filet was bad. The waiter was really rude and the service was really slow.

Dinner at Montemar was absolutely delicious! Ivan, our waiter, was very attentive and made excellent menu suggestions for our table.
The view and ambiance were the perfect setting after a busy day. We will definitely be dining here again.

The service is over the top at this restaurant and the waiters try so hard but it feels very mechanical and scripted and not natural and authentic.

We ordered a few main course dishes sides after starters, and the portions were massive and we felt we ordered too many dishes and could not finish all food. The waiter did not provide any suggestions or comments on the number of dishes ordered and at the level of service they are trying to provide, it would make more sense for them to suggest/comment on these points to ensure customers don’t over order.

The food is pretty average, some lacked flavours or seasoning. Selection of wines by glass (we tried three to taste) all tasted stale and oxidated which is a shame given it is a steak restaurant and people are more likely to go for red wines. Steak came blue when ordered rare but the quality of meat was acceptable.

There appears to be more staff than the customers and having three receptionists sitting by the entrance talking and relaxing doesn’t give a great impression of the restaurant.

Amazing food, service, and wine with a beautiful view! We had the red snapper, guacamole, green salad, and Montemar cabernet - all exceptional! Thank you to Linn and Luna for the excellent service!

The view overlooking the lagoon is nice. The restaurant has good outdoor seating area.

The QR scanned menu is not the real price so be warned and be expected to pay more than 10% of the menu price!

The food was decent. I had many grilled octopus from different restaurants in Spain and other places and they know how to cook and tenderize the octopus.

But this place, the chef did not do justice to the octopus. The grilled octopus wasn’t properly cleaned and the chewy part of the membrane was grilled together. The tentacles were not soft enough and you really have to ‘work’ it with your teeth.

Kind of disappointed actually.

Puerto Madero in the hotel zone is much better.
