Staying away from the Hotel Zone has its advantages... Most importantly $1/TACOS!! Nothing fancy, just authentic Mexican. Service is lacking English but will offer an English menu. Also offers fresh juices which are great. Price and quality found here!

Great tacos. The kind you won't find everywhere. More homemade flavors like meatballs (albóndigas) andas rajas con crema. Great juices as well.

We had quesadillas for breakfast, they were huge and delicious!
The orange juice was freshly pressed.
We came back a second time!

Basic tacos, cheap meal, low-key. It's good if you don't want to be bothered.

Stayed at Hotel Bonampak, so this restaurant is just a few steps away. Ate there almost every day. Excellent, authentic Mexican food. Don’t expect them to speak English but you can order from the English menu, which they can provide. Very friendly people.

They offered us vegan/vegetarian options even though they weren't standard on the menu. Our Enchiladas were made right next to us, we could see the whole proces from cutting the vegetables to putting the whole enchilada together. The juices were superb, right on. Deliciously fresh. The staff was polite and explained us what they had on the menu in great detail.
