It's an interesting plaza a lot of very local dive bars surround this plaza not dangerous just working class people there's one bar that's upstairs I don't remember the name but they have great karaoke so if you want to get a local feel for Villahermosathis plaza would be the place

I had dinner in one of the restaurants there. I enjoyed the surrealistic mixture of about five very loud sources of music played at the same time (four reproduced, one live), which make it totally cacophonic and undecipherable. But loud, that is what counts.

Nice park in the centro of Villahermosa. On weekends a group plays live marimba, really nice show. Couple of restaurants and bars on the corners. Lot of accommodation/hotel options nearby, for different budgets.
