Inexpensive to visit, I even have lots of free range animals like monkeys, deer, and small rodents Ijust walking around the place. There is definitely a lack of larger mammals, but that is understandable given their cost of upkeep and maintenance. Definitely a good thing to do if you are in the city. The sound of the howler monkeys crying above you as you walk around the zoo is pretty impressive!

Decent zoo place with shade and some coolness (in comparison to Tuxtla! ;-), mostly local species (very few crocodiles though ????) - for me the best were the colorful birds. Also please beware that no drinks or any other refreshments are being sold there right now (u003d pandemic) + the place is really closing at 1pm.

Great zoo with alot of different animals to see and learn about. It's free on Tuesdays and half price before 10am. If you're not from Mexico like myself, just ask for tickets in Spanish and tell them you're exchange students. Worked for us and got in for $20 Pesos instead of $60! Worth a visit if you're in town.

We loved being in the jungle at Zoomat, u0026 how all the animals are from around Mexico u0026 have lots of space, like they’re in their own natural environment. Our kids enjoyed seeing deer running free u0026 some birds wandering around as well. Walking around to see all the animals took about 2 hours, which was a great way to spend the afternoon. Highly recommend :)

I wanted to like this place but unfortunately it was not possible.

The animals just look lonely and sad. Some mammals were in cages by themselves as were some birds. The cages were dirty and didn't have enough flora and fauna to keep the animals occupied.

Both my wife and I felt sad as we hiked up the steep, paved trail looking either at nothing or at lonely, bored, sad, animals.

I wish they would charge more for entry or at at least find a way to improve the conditions which the animals live in....

I didn't take any pictures because;
A - it was difficult through the multiple layers of rusty fencing
B - it didn't feel right
C - it made me sad.

Was a wonderful experience, I love the information given by the guide, is a good place to go with family, friends or alone, the ticket is very cheap and worth it

Even before you get into the actual Zoo, you're getting into El Zapotal, biosphere reserve park, the temperature changes and the sounds from the flora and fauna are easier to hear. I'd say just stepping into El Zapotal, the atmosphere gets very relaxing.
Once you get into the Zoo, you start exercising your body just by walking through the
