Very family friendly. Live music almost every night. Lots of tasty stuff to eat. A good slice of Mexican life.

Lay down park in central Tuxtla Gtz. [Update 29 june 2022] After a period out of music, due to covid, the park is again having the traditional music and dancing sessions. It happens roughly around 18-20 h. Surrounding the square there are many traditional restaurants (and few torist traps) to taste a bit of the region.

Beautiful square with lots of trees for shade and a kiosk in the middle with live marimba music and dancing most evenings.

Central place of Tuxtla. The city name is written with iconic elements such as the canyon de sumidero. A lot of life happens on this ventral place and marimba is played most of the day.Feel free to dance with locals! The coffee shop around are very good with authentic Chiapas coffee

Had a great time here it was fantastic to meet some of the locals, which were extremely friendly and always willing to take me out to dance. One of the individuals I met was an elderly man, who gave me the scoop on half of the town that was there dancing lol I laughed the entire night and enjoyed the atmosphere tremendously. Even met The Queen of El Parque de la Marimba she introduced her self as such, but the elderly man told me that she was actually not the queen haha but considered herself the I-Ternal queen in the park! Highly recommend this little spot!

We spent a beatiful night under musical notes of la marimba. A free event for avery one. You only need lots of energy to dance. People all over tuxtla. Guitierres come to this even which is on Fridays nights.
