Had a good time walking around and checking out the nice architecture here. The style is very New Orleans French quarter. Really cool place to take some decent pictures. Also a quick walk to "Plaza de Armas" which is another interesting plaza with a nice cathedral next to it. Recommend going in the daytime since it's safer.

Visiting the historic downtown is always a must when you visit new cities so this area is nice to see around. There are lots of food options and things to see around here.

There is a new mercado being built as we speak .and you read! If you really want to learn about history of Tampico, I suggest you go to the very end of the plaza head towards the river panuco. There you see a red building, the old customs bldg. Check out the tour!! And it's FREE.

Great place to walk and take pictures. The problem are the copious amounts of street dogs.
