The Mercado Municipal of Tampico is rapidly becoming in a must visit while you're in town.

It kind of capture the escence of the old Mercado ( that in fact part of it still behind this one ) and mixes with nowadays. Saw many tourists while visiting which is a good sign that is a safe place to visit regardless of the history of the zone.

Many different stores, from souvenirs to food, specially food are the places you will need to go there when visit the Mercado in Tampico Downtown.

Indoor market full of stalls selling different items and offering different food vendors. Unfortunately, many of the shops closed early on Saturday, around 5:30.

Great place to Eat Shop and Visit. Hangout in the downtown area of Tampico. Safe and secure. Good people and good restaurants.

We ate at Tortas Pancho. Their tortas are amazing. We also had an Agua de Horchata from another vendor and it was good.

Was clean and the people following the COVID-19 rules there. Beautiful place i recommended this Mercado Municipal de Tampico
