this is a new museum, built on the site of the ex-municipal building for san cristobal. there was so much conflict over the change of use that many local people refuse to visit, it is their loss as the refurbished building is lovingly done. a great area behind the museum with a fountain, my daughter loves to get her feet wet, and places with tables and umbrellas to sit and watch. the presentations inside are professionally done and educate locals and visitors alike about the history of san cristobal and the outlying areas. the current exhibit in the art gallery is well, not the best chiapaz has to offer. fortunately it is not a permanent exhibit. paz
