Very interesting building, currently undergoing incremental renovation, and cultural center with a great history. It's early significance is referred to in one of the interviews in "Every Woman is a World" by Gayle Walker and Kiki Suárez.
The former teacher's college has been slowly returning to life over the past several years. It now houses a pleasant restaurant, Nostalgia, that features Oaxacan food and, in January 2022, a wonderful photography exhibit, with photos by several nationally known photographers as well as dreamlike photos taken in indigenous towns nearby. There are a few specialty shops with clothing and crafts that have entrances from the street. The complex is definitely worth a visit; it's obviously a labor of love by those involved in restoring and creating a cultural center that's off the beaten path.
