Stopped by to have a glass of wine here because the live music was good. The first waiter sat us on the small patio table just outside to the left (as you look in). We got our drinks (the girls had tea) and enjoyed the music and played a dice game on the table. A 2nd waiter was a bit more "salesman-ish" and almost insisted the girls join me in a "real" drink so they gave in and got mojitos. After two more rounds, the waiter comes by and asks if he could ask me to be moved. I said I would if we could be moved inside closer to the music. He told me we'd be moved adjacent to the restaurant where it would look like we were part of another establishment. I said no. He then tells me that the table we were at was reserved for a "regular guest" and he was sorry but we'd have to move. I asked for the manager, but instead he came back to me saying that in addition to the reserved table, he (the other guy) spends around $250 and our bill was only about $87.00. Later he mentions that they also do not allow for table games to be played there. I told him again to bring me his manager. The manager came, he apologized and said he needed me to move to another table. I told him I thought it was extremely unprofessional and rude to treat their customers this way. He apologized again, but said we still had to move. I told him that because he had no inside table, we would not be moving. He continued to argue with me to which I said, if you're throwing me out I will not pay for anything up to this point! He said, get out and pointed away from the restaurant so others could see he was throwing me and my two girlfriends out. Needless to say, we were embarrassed, but we pretended like we just won the lottery and yelled woo hoo free drinks, yeah baby as we walked away.
A few yards away around the corner, one of my girlfriends had to use a bathroom and we stopped at a local hotel for her. Just then, I get approached by two local police officers and the waiter. They demanded that I pay the bill and I told the officer I would not. He eventually brought us back toward the restaurant where at the same time the manager was coming in our direction. I asked him to tell the officers (by this time 8 more officers were surrounding us) that he had kicked me out. The manager straight out lied and said he never asked me to leave, but rather only to change tables. I told him he was a liar and that my two girlfriends would testify to it (as they had not yet come from the restroom when this was happening). Just then the owner of the restaurant comes and tells me and the officers that all is well and he would take care of everything. He offers me to come back to the restaurant and be seated in the same table and he apologizes profusely for the lack of professionalism of his employees. He also buys us three a drink for our trouble.
We accept, but only because we had not finished our game and we wanted to prove a point. We had done nothing to be treated this way and I wanted to let the other people who watched this happen know that we were being apologized to.
I will admit that the music and ambiance of this place was nice and I would have recommended it to anyone had this incident not happened. However, because it did I would say stay away from this place or just beware. Don't let some inexperienced imbecile push you around. This happened around Aug 2012, hopefully they have since fired these two morons and if so, it may be worth checking out (I doubt it)!
