Terrible overall experience here. The ambiance was decent and the service excellent so I thought I was in for a treat. Started out with a bread soup that was tasty but the next dish was a culinary disaster that the restaurant wouldn’t remedy. Before my second this arrived, I asked for a side of avocado. But they brought was clearly rotten avocado that was more brown than green. To make matters worse, the chicken mole was the most disgusting chicken I’ve ever had- comparable only to the chicken I had back in 2000 when I was treking through the jungles of South China, and the cook brought two live chickens that were so chewy my jaw hurt after three bites. This was that same chicken. I asked the waiter very kindly if it was possible to change the dish for something else. He said no that’s the way it is so I thanked him and asked for the check and left. I felt bad for him because he did a great job, but whoever runs this restaurant is completely clueless and has no idea what customer services. So disappointed.

A fantastic dining experience in every way. The preparations were some of the best that I’ve had in Mexico, with wonderful flavor combinations that make every bite a sensation. And the service was outstanding - the mesero was very conscientious and took time to explain the menu, and everything flowed with perfect timing. An excellent experience and I would highly recommend

This place is solid. Beautiful interiors, attentive service, some of the best tasting, beautifully plated food in San cris. It's modern authentic Mexican faire and prices are reasonable. Enjoyed dining here very much.

Good food promoting even better causes. Bright and open atmosphere. Enjoyed eating and learning about traditional foods of Chiapas. The mezcal margaritas are delicious!

An absolute amazing experience. Chef and owner Ricardo treated us so well, giving us the full experience and history of Mayan and Mexican culture. Every ingredient was locally harvested and came together so well. If you're looking for an authentic and unforgettable experience, this is a must stop.

I had a wonderful dining experience at Belil! The service was incredible. The waiter gave great recommendations for drinks and dishes that were really unique. I had the chicken mole and bread soap, which another reviewer commented on. Unlike the previous review, I was really impressed with my dishes. The mole was delicious and the chicken was really well prepared. I also loved the addition of sweet fried plantain in both the soap and chicken dish, which made it very unique. I had an incredible strawberry and mint cocktail that was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. I would highly recommend eating here.
