Hilton Diamond traveler; My partner and I stayed for a week long leisure trip in the Governor Suite. The property is away from the Main Street which made for a enjoyable quiet stay without road noises. The check-in process was smooth by friendly and welcoming agents.
Now the governor suite was very beautiful, boasting a spacious and traditional style ambiance. The suite was very clean and welcoming. Really enjoyed the living room area to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. The bathroom also very spacious with a beautiful tub. However the shower was unexpectedly smaller with a odd door but still effective. Housekeeping was wonderful in keeping my room refreshed daily which made for a wonderful stay in the suite.
I did visit the restaurant for breakfast which is Included with Diamond status. The food options were a mix of traditional Mexican dishes also Including an “American breakfast” which was tasty. However -1 star for the restaurant service. On my first day I didn’t have a pleasant experience ( lack of service to our table while bigger tables were well attended, After our food was dropped off we were never attended to.) which I expressed, the second day it was Improved however not entirely the service I expected to have at this beautiful property. So we decided we wouldn’t join for breakfast the remainder of my stay which was unfortunate.
Our last night we thought we’d visit for dinner as it was most convenient, I was met with the same experience as breakfast. Unwelcoming host which insisted I sit at the 2 person table she offered with a loud tv above, ignoring my request for a different table, with many open tables. (I do speak Spanish fluently, so wasn’t a language barrier) then to wait for a never arrived server. We got up and went into the downtown and has a wonderful dinner at Sonora Grill.
Overall the hotel stay was very enjoyable which would certainly bring me back in the future. But I needed to be honest with my restaurant experience which is also a big part of the overall hotel experience.
Cheers.
