Delicious!

We've spent every March for the past four years here in Puebla. Even when we're gone we talk about how different and delicious the food is at La Memela Dorada than at other places in Puebla.

And inexpensive!

We actually call La Memela Dorada "The Red Seat Girls" because of the red tables and chairs in front of the restaurant.

The restaurant is a "fonda" - a fonda is a mom and pop restaurant in which the family does all the work - from buying ingredients to cleaning to cooking.

Fondas are where you'll find the most authentic cuisine of any given town, city, or region.

And fondas are where you'll find "comida economica" - "food at a good price".

Every time we eat at our Red Seat Girls we each walk away stuffed for between $1 and a $1.50 having enjoyed two or three different dishes - crazy right!

And more important than the prices are the facts that the food is delicious - the red salsa is never burning hot .... and because the food is piping hot off the grill it has never made us suffer from Montezuma's Revenge hehehe.

La Memela is located in a pedestrian only zone - just look for the red seats and beautiful smiles.
