I cannot say enough good things about Ta’consciente! My husband and I have been in playa del Carmen this week celebrating our anniversary and really have loved getting off the resort and trying the local vegan options. Ta’consciente takes the vegan cake people! Like, honestly if you don’t check this place out it will be a major mistake.

First off, we got there around 9:30pm and Jackie set us up with a sample of each filling so that we could decide what we wanted. Every single option was better than the last. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. We ended up about 4 tacos, a sopa and a tostada. Plus some hibiscus agua freca. The service was incredible, helpful and friendly!

Add this spot to your list and go every day if possible.

This. Place. Is. Everything.

We loooved the food here. They were nice enough to let us sample the different tacos filling and they were all tasy. Our favorites were al pastor, carrot, seitan and bbq mushroom.

It’s a little difficult to find from the street. Just walk into cafe bajo and continue walking until you see it on the right.

If you haven't tried the vegan tacos (and you're vegan and in Playa) ... I don't know who you are and what you're thinking ...

I mean, how can you even call yourself a #VeganPlayan or a #ModernHippy at all!

Do you even realize how hard it is to find a vegan taco place in Mexico ?!

You better run over and check that place off your vegan gourmet foodie tour list.

I mean NOW !

I usually don’t review places but this place goes above and beyond, not only on their incredible food but their humanity and service. The food here makes me miss nothing from my carnivore days and it’s by far the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. if you’re anywhere near Playa Del Carmen this is the place to go!!!!

Fantastic vegan tacos! And cheap at 25 peso. Even the non vegans enjoyed them ("if all vegan food tastes this good, I'd consider blah blah blah but I love cheese too much blah blah blah" )

This hidden gem is a must stop while visiting Playa Del Carmen! I cannot express enough just how amazing the tacos are! Looking for vegetarian options while traveling can sometimes be challenging, and I really wanted to eat so many delicious tacos. I’m so happy we found this place and ate here many times during our holiday. My favourite tacos were the mixed and the el pastor. Service is super quick and friendly, the food is extremely tasty, and the price is so reasonable. My husband eats meat and didn’t miss it at all when we ate here. I only wish they had a location in Canada so we could keep enjoying their delicious food. We just might have to visit Playa again just to eat here. Taconsciente keep doing the amazing things you do, your my happy place!
