I actually had a very good experience here. I saw a doctor for my issue quickly, the price was fair and she was very knowledgable and professional (from Cuba). The reception staff was fast and informative. The lab next door was good as well with good prices. I was not here for a major emergency, but I went away feeling like I would come back here.

On Aug 17, 2022, I was sent to Playa Med by my hotel Doctor for an eye injury during my holiday. My vision at the time was a merely 30%. Doctor Benjamin and the nurse took my blood pressure and vitals to make sure I was stabilized and not in immediate danger, then patiently listened to my medical history. After 45 min or so at the Emergency ward, they advised me that they will have to refer me to another hospital where an Opthalmologist can look after me right away in 2-3 hours. They made the appointment for me and even helped my wife get a taxi. Before we left, my wife asked them "How much do we owe you?" To our pleasant surprise, the staff said there is NO charge since they couldn't help me, couldn't help me? they have done so much, I will forever be grateful. The care, dedication and professionalism was amazing. They all spoke very good English too. Gracias Playa Med, Dr Benjamin and the 2 nurses from Canada

Have to say I was a bit worried about the place reading the reviews.
I drove my daughter to the emergencies on the 16th of July at night as we’ve been contaminated by a salmonella in a beachfront restaurant in playa del Carmen and she suffered hot temperature and kidney pain.
The check in was efficient and professional, doctor Alejandro Villanueva turned out to be an amazing doctor who helped us a lot, even to reassure us and have the blood and urine analysis results in the middle of the night within 1/2h to prescribe the best medication. Had to come back the day after for ultrasound to make sure that the organs were ok. The radiologist was very professional and welcoming.
Overall amazing experience for a fair price : 2800 pesos all exams and consultation included. Health has no price but this clinic prices are fair.
Not to mention the clinic is spotless. Even in the middle of the night housekeeping is always around to clean up.

If anyone wants to get there COVID test done here - DO NOT GO HERE.
They don’t know what they are doing, and they charge you way to much. The airport is half the price, and you’ll have your results in 30 minutes

i had very good experience with my pregnant wife their it was a bit expensive but the doctor was all the time their 24 h via whatsapp when we had something we could come all the time and had all the day and night direct connection to the doctor

Doctor Marquez at PlayMed was very Professional . Great bedside manners. My son had an asthma attack and was seen right away. Did not wait very much. Price pretty reasonable. Private hospital. Doctor Marquez is bilingual. Asked him to make his notes in English. And agreed to write them in both languages. Not sure if I will get reimbursed back home yet by my own insurance. Payed on my way out.

They saved me and diagnosed me correctly right away. Small facility with good basic equipment. I was transferred to the Cancun facility and both are great. Prices are more affordable than the large hospitals I found out later on. Strongly recommend these nice and professional people.
