Very helpful and polite staff. Quick visit for my son. For some stitches on his leg.
Overall happy with the visit
The hospital it self is in need of an investment
But can't fault the staff.... top job

Excellent service. After my son was diagnosed with severe dehydration by private hospital. Which was wrong. General hospital saved my son's life. They found out that he had diabetes. They immediately treated him. Almost fourth days in the hospital until he was stabled. Excellent and professional service from, Dr's and, nurses, and every single employee.
Private hospital named hospiten paid $4260.00 for nothing.
General hospital pay less than $500.00 and I am very happy to see my son coming back to life. Some times money doesn't matter if it's spended right. Thank you for all the dedicated and committed Dr's and medicine workers. Keep saving life's. God bless you ???? all.

My son had a severe cut across his knee that needed 6 internal and 6 external stitches. We paid $8! That was it. They were professional and quick. The hospital is not in the best neighborhood or looks like a newer US facility but they were amazing. I can also attest to the fact that their stitch work was superior. We still can’t believe it. Avoid Hospiten and go here.

My wife ended up visiting this hospital last week. We were impressed with the professionalism and compassion of the ER physician Alejandro Bautista. He provided excellent care for her condition and clearly explained (with Google Translate) what he was doing despite our rudimentary Spanish. We were out of the hospital in less than 2 hours. Thanks a lot to the doctor and all hospital staff!

Everyone was nice enough, but they couldn't help us, so we're going to Amerimed private hospital instead. Earlier today, the (excellent) walk-in clinic sent my husband for an ultrasound and they found a large kidney stone (7.5 mm). They said he probably needs either shockwave therapy or surgery to remove it. The General Hospital could only treat it with medicine, which works if it's less than 5mm. (I'm not sure if the emergency room here does any surgery, it seems more like an Urgent Care. I'd suggest going to the walk-in clinic first.)

Also to note, if you don't speak Spanish, you'll need to use Google Translate or something to communicate.

Defo not the classy look of a private hospital. Though the staff was quite busy they was all wonderful with me and so far have given me a 5star service, with smiles and efficiently running around to attend to my emerancy treatment. A Hugh amount of student nurses (many from Belize that speak English rather than Spanish) insured that I was attended to at every moment. Doctors explained procedures to me in English. Most of the main doctors also work in private hospitals, they also have their own clinics. For a low cost hospital I definitely recommend .

Public, the best prices and the best technology.... Every time there an emergency from the private clinics and hospitals...they end up sending the patient over here....also most doctors from private clinics, work here as well.

The place is big and design to support the increasing population of Playa del Carmen.....it has its own issues as any other medical service public or private but in the end you are in professional hands.

We got private service for our birth-child and we end up in the emergency room over here for a successful natural birth.
