Excellent restaurant, much higher quality than similar restaurants in Oaxaca. The area is also very calm, so you can have a nice conversation while savoring all the different meats available.

Don't miss it if you love to eat meat. It is unforgettably delicious. My husband and I ordered the beef short ribs(our favorite) and the chef's specialty- marinated pork ribs. Love the portion of the meat and the salsa, peanuts, bean soup comes with the order. This is one of our best meal in our 3- months travel in Mexico. We will come again before we leave Oaxaca. Thank you Pipe and probably his wife who was serving the food.

The service is great and the dishes are very tasty! The chef prepares the meat of your selection on the grill and they serve it on a hot plate, in case you would like to fry it a bit more and it keeps your food warm as well! The prices are very reasonable also. Great place to have food!

I had the best time ever with Pipe himself. I talked his ear off for over 2 hours. He gave Mezacal and bean soup with a bunch of different sauces, ask for hierba del conejo. I had such an amazing time. The bbq meat was delicious and pipe himself was a delight to hang with. I’m 100% going back over the weekend! What a phenomenal experience!!

I have tried many of the asador vendors here in Oaxaca City and Pipe's Restaurante Asador BBQ is by far my favorite of them all. Luis is a master on the grill. They offer many cuts of meat beyond what you normally find at other grilled meat vendors (tasajo, cecina and chorizo). I highly recommend trying their ajuhas (short ribs), tasajo (best I've had), and cochinita pibil. I recently got to sample their new hamburgesa al carbon, which was supremely delectable. And their recent addition of brochetas (skewers) de verduras (mushrooms, red bell peppers, and onions) to the menu is a delicious option.
