The location (Jalatlaco) is a little out of the center, but it's still only about a 10-15 minute walk to the zocalo. There are also plenty of great restaurants and cafes and stores within a block or 2 of the hotel. The main ADO bus station is only about 5 small blocks away.
Rates are competitive, keeping in mind that accommodations in Oaxaca are relatively expensive. There is a range of room types, including one or more "suites" with TV, but most rooms have no TV. You didn't come to Oaxaca to watch TV. There are even some cheaper rooms with shared bath.
One of the things I love most about this hotel is the breakfast. It's a decent breakfast for a reasonable price, but what I really like are the banquet style tables and the opportunity to meet the interesting guests. We have made a few good friends here.
Arnel himself is a wealth of information and can help you arrange or figure out how to arrange pretty much anything you might want to do in Oaxaca.
The property is beautiful, full of plants and birds, with various patios and nice places to hang out with friends for a beer or coffee, etc.
