Magical, impressive, historical. This is what this temple full of history looks like in the heart of the capital of Mexico. It’s crazy that it’s just there in the middle of the zócalo which makes even more incredible.

It has bridges that help to enter above the ruins to be able to appreciate it better. You can have good views from above or pay for the museum entrance from below.

Although a good part of it is currently closed due to the pandemic, the site still makes for a brilliant visit. Get a guide when you get there, you'll learn a lot more than visiting on your own. The visit is best followed by a tour of the nearby museum.

There's no complete access to the temple ruins but is very nice to see how big it was!

So you really do have to visit the site.

The ruins are incredible and there are English texts to explain what you are looking at.

The museum part is a bit of a mishmash and lacking much explanation in English, so for non-Spanish-speaking visitors it’s kind of a wash - a bunch of artifacts with no context.

I cruised though the museum pretty quickly because it just didn’t hold up next to the spectacular ruins and I didn’t really know what I was looking at.

It was very interesting to see this ancient place so closed to the metropolitan cathedral and a museum with bones, tools, ceramic proper of that time! I would have liked to have someone expert about history in that moment to learn more and the facts as they really are..

Amazing place right in the middle of Centro Historico, su much prehispanic history and they are currently excavating it was so cool to see the archeologists in action.

Not much to see here other than some ruins, the walks itself are closed due to COVID.
