Forgot to post my review from my visit in January. It was deserved which is why I’m posting now.

As a Texan I was super excited to read about this place in Texas Monthly so it was on my visit list while in CDMX of course I had to have some “American /Texas style” Brisket and Ribs.
Upon my arrival I was greeted with friendly service as we walked in and explained how it all worked, of course coming from Texas and a big bbq lover I was Knowledged and ready to order everything my eyes could see. We tried out a variety of Brisket, Ribs u0026 jalapeño cheddar sausage. Had the mac n cheese and beans for our sides. The order process was also friendly and mouth watering as you could see the meats being cut and weighted. The whole ordering processing was quick and easy.

To the point, The brisket was hands down amazing and reminded me of true Texas style bbq. Perfectly smoked with a nice smoke ring u0026 the perfect pull which showed how moist it was. The Ribs were packed with the perfect smoke flavor and topped with the right amount of sauce for the perfect fall off the bone rib. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was extremely flavorful and beat my favorite brand from Texas.
Now the mac n cheese was dry and bland, the bbq beans were tasty. But quite honestly I came wanting true smoked meat and boy was I impressed. All washed down with a craft beer called Cosaco Roja, great beer.

Prices are what I expected to pay as it’s a premium product and reflected Texas prices. For Mexico it may be a shock but bbq is a true craft which comes at a premium. Lastly unfortunately I didn’t catch it till after I left but my receipt showed I was actually charged twice for brisket which I only ordered a pound (450g give or take) I was charged two separate brisket charged. I reached out to the fb page without a successful response. I’m sure it was a human error which I understand, I just wish I would’ve caught the error in person but I was simply to excited to sit and eat.

Overall highly recommend this BBQ place for true American/ Texas style BBQ! I’ll be back soon.

Side addition AMEX was accepted which was awesome.

Cheers.

The place, staff and music are cool but the food is meh, tbh is way too pricey for the low quality meat they serve, you can feel it immediately not to mention the rubbery tasteless mac and cheese, me and my friend got stomachache. This is just another cheap fast food chain restaurant.

One of my most expensive dinners here in Mexico 460peso....and had the spare ribs, potato salad and smoked coleslaw. I was very surprised they served me from a wrapped tin foil rack of dried ribs cold and the skin was dry and meat was too unfortunately a big disappointment then when trying the coleslaw it looked and tasted old and soggy and too apricot jam like and not smokey at all unfortunately couldn't stomach it and the potatoe salad was tasty and was the only thing I finished off the tray. Nice venue space tho.

The worst BBQ I’ve had in my life; I’ve been all over Texas and Louisiana. Sad to say it, but I do believe these reviews are paid for because this was not the experience I was expecting. The sides: Mac and cheese (came straight from a box) no seasoning bland. Potato salad the best thing on the platter, but again I could’ve gone to Costco and got the same quality. The meat: Baby back ribs and St. Louis. rub was mediocre. Meat was dry and how can you even call this St. Louis ribs. Dry as dry can be….the same goes for the brisket. I do not recommend save yourself some money and find another spot.

Food quality and service speed is what gives this place 5 stars. The concept is a typical American BBQ with ribs, pulled pork and brisket which have been cooked for hours and so the meat is super soft and delicious. The sides are typical American too such as coleslaw, potato salad, Mac and cheese... For drinks don't miss the artisanal beers and the house lemonade which you can refill as many times as needed. Pies are ridiculously good too!

America south in Mexico city! The food was great big portions, cheap good deals on big plate ate 4 hungry people. The staff was super friendly also. I would recommend 100% if you missed the states for some reason!!
