Boring, bland and worst service than back home in France!
The decor and ambient of this big open space basement restaurant were boring. I couldn’t figure out if they were trying to go with a French bistro or French home kitchen concept. I felt more in a soup kitchen than anything else
The food was bland, but the presentation was not even worth the effort.
We preferred the foie gras which had half of the portion pure fat. They most likely served us the end part, which unless one enjoys only eating fat, I cannot recommend it.
The snails were bland in taste and had more butter than snails - imagine a bowl with only melted butter and a couple of snails to fish after. Even in other places where they can’t get Bourgogne Snails due to their size, they at least add 2 snails to each shell.
During our meal, bread was served which was not fresh. It was soft and mushy. A French restaurant should know that bred is served with a crunchiness to it. Anything else is savageness.
The main part had similar qualities to the starters.
The boeuf bourguignon had a nice yet unpractical presentation. However, 3 fine of meat won’t satisfy anyone's taste buds.
The entrecôte was rubbery at best - I had better meat quality at the corner street taco. The bearnaise sauce was a mashed clump of fat with a little estragón sprinkled on top. Imagine butter taken out of the fridge 10min before serving and hacked with a fork.
The service was absurdly considered we are in Mexico. Not even in France do they provide such laisser-faire service.
We were asked for drinks only at the beginning, and not once more during the en tired meal. We had to ask for new cutleries when they took our used ones away and never brought new ones after the next meal arrived.
Even after we finished the bread, no more was served with the foie gras. Though we are no cavemen, a little bread to a foie gras is the least addition to be offered.
The two stars are for the originality of the name and location. All other aspect was a failure to never experience again.
