We chose this restaurant because of good reviews and a nice looking terras based off the photo's, while the prices seemed reasonable. In person, the establishment clearly tries to cater to a high-class customer, with a large, modern interior and neatly dressed servers. However, we found several elements strongly disturbing:
-first and foremost, the prices. Yes, the prices of the food are reasonable. The prices of the drinks were not. We didn't realize this, though, until it was too late, because
-there is NO drinks menu. The waiting staff happily invites you to order an appetizer, a drink, a second drink, a digestive, invites you to upgrade your cocktail to the mango-variety because it is 'so much better', but neglects to inform you of the financial side of things. With 1 appetizer and 2 glasses of wine each (without any wine-menu, mind you), drinks were 65% of the final bill, without propina of course.
-while staff clearly did try and weren't to blame for the sour taste the bill left, they were clearly not trained at the level that would be expected for the abovementioned behaviour. Simple etiquette like presenting the wine bottle before serving, clearing empty glasses of the table when serving new ones or waiting untill everyone is done eating before clearing the table did not happen.
The food was certainly ok, as were the drinks, but we left feeling this establishment survives off of expecting (and pushing clients) to to make uninformed decisions. Go to a nice taqueria instead, or go to a real fine-dining restaurant.
