An absolute gem… this is the best coffee I’ve had in Mexico City and maybe in the world - the coffee is fresh and delicious, and the couple who runs the place is lovely. Despite being out of the way, there are always customers there
I have never ordered their fancy coffees - I just ask for “cafe con leche”, which costs 19 pesos for the largest size, and is more flavourful than a latte from Starbucks or their local equivalent.
The area is safe, day or night, and there is a police station down the street - don’t believe what you hear about Tlatelolco, I live in the Tlatelolco-Tepito transition zone where Lazaro Cardenas meets Reforma, and while there is certainly some sketchy activity going on, it is of the organized variety, and they have no interest in bothering foreigners.
