I took my wife there for a ct scan, they helped us immediately. The staff was prompt and very professional. The hospital was modern and spotless. The cost was unimportant, but was probably 1/4 of what it would have been in the States.
There was no waiting, they took care of us promptly. They have excellent doctors and specialists.
I would not hesitate to use them again.

I had Bariatric surgery (VSG) at Hospital Almater with Dr. Wilhelmy. The care I received at Hospital Almater was fantastic. Equipment is up to date. My operation was successful and I had no complications. I was kept very comfortable and taken very good care of. My daytime nurse, Julio, was fantastic. He worked hard to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I need. All of the other nurses and staff were helpful and kind. Everything was very clean. I loved that there was a ceiling fan in my room lol. The hospital has everything you’d expect - ICU, blood bank, lab, radiology, everything you could need in case or emergency. I’m very happy with my hospital selection. I’m also very happy with my experience with Mexicali Bariatric Center. That review will be written on their google page.

Great hospital with caring and attentive staff. Absolutely no waiting for call lights to be answered as happens in the US, and the nurses and doctors went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable at all times. I am So much more impressed with Hospital Almater than I have ever been with any hospital in the US.

My mom almost died. Survived because I got her out of this place. If you have no insurance better not go. Will ask for payment ahead of doing any procedure, test, labwork, even during an emergency!. I did not know this, they did not advice until my mom was just sitting there and I had no idea I had to pay ahead! Which I was able to do but very poor communication from the doctors and staff. De. Zatarain attended her. Really got offended at me for asking questions about what was going on. Had a superiority attitude of "I'm the doctor" they left my mom in a room past a cleaning closet where one "nurse" covering the whole floor. Can't express enough how bad this is, I showed up at my mom's room and she was shaking in pain and nobody even knew. No monitoring equipment. You are requested to stay overnight because you are the night watch.

Very clean, well run, and modernm hospital. Staff really attentive to the needs of the patients. My son had a sleeve bariatric surgery here. I was with him, as I am an R.N. trained in the USA at Purdue University. I observed the care given to my son and was very pleased with every aspect of his care. The nurse to patient ratio was much better than the States. The standard of care was better than that in the US. Call bells were answered in seconds. Patients Reverend medications for pain in minutes, rather than waiting for much longer time period y that they are forced to wait in the US. The surgeon, Assistant and hospitalist were in to visit at least twice daily. There was a cociereige painpe assigned to my son who was available much of the day for translation, although many of the staff spoke English. A transportation person was in charge of taking us to and from the parking lot on the US side and to the hospital and the hotel. The hotel rivaled any give star in the states. It was included in the cost of the phone( one night).
This was a great decision and easily one that we would do again for other surgeries in the future!

They are thieves just out to take your money instead of help you. I paid 30,000 pesos for an IV and a room for the night and wanted 13000 more for a CT scan. My brothers Dr said, the next day, never go there again, he’s heard many stories of overcharging for nothing.
