The good: The location is great. There was a beautiful roof to hang out. The staff were friendly and the room was clean.
The bad: The room was bad. It’s supposed to have air conditioning but it only had a fan and no windows, so it was super hot and no air. Also there was a glass part of the door which was covered with a way too small cloth, and we had to improvise a cover with a towel.

What can I say? I guess to start with the fact that I only planned to stay for 1 night but ended up staying 3 ???? The Hostel's architecture is amazing, being very spacious with very high ceilings and having a beautiful terrace on the rooftop where you can enjoy an amazing view on the City of Merida, including its famous cathedral. The restaurant, where I was having my breakfast, is facing La Plaza Grande de Merida - another amazing view.???? Breakfast was excellent! And the entire staff is very friendly and helpful, always trying to find a good solution in case of an issue - in my case, where to find a good pre-paid SIM to use in Mexico.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and is good for people who like to have a good talk and rest after returning from tours.

And the plants ... so many ... and so beautiful????

The place is just amazing its a very large very old family owned and run mansion( it will make you feel like you are in Europe). The staff was so nice and helpful! They made our stay a pleasure. Lots of spaces to sit and chill in apart from others. It's located right on the main square of the city and had 5 little balconies that look right over the park. The bed was cozy and rooms were very clean. We will definitely tell all our friends to come to this place and will be back next month again.

Great value (very good price compared to other
hostels in Merida),
Great location (you can’t find a better location than this - right on the main plaza!) ,
Great breakfast (the breakfast was included in my rate, it really amazed me how great it is, best in town, even compared to other restaurants),
Great view from the breakfast cafe balcony and amazing terrace!
Great shower - enough hot water and nice water pressure. They also gave me a nice tower and soap, and a lock when I check in.
I stayed in the dormitory, all the beds are individual (no bunked bed), and they are quite comfortable.
My only complaint is that the dormitory is quite crowded, my bed was right next to the door so I don’t have any privacy as everyone walked by can see me and wake me up all the time, and the door can’t really be closed from inside.

ZERO stars: Be extremely careful with your stuff if you stay here lock EVERYTHING up, apparently they have thieves working here and they are covered up by the manager. 2 different days my stuff went missing, the 2nd day I finally brought it up to the manager. I got back from being out all day and the cleaning ladies had actually made my bed and moved the things I had left on it. I went to report it to the manager who didnt like it, insisted their workers wouldnt take things and made it seem I waa in the wrong. He was super condecending and arrogant. Finally he said they may have "accidentally" taken my stuff to the laudry. I told him to go get my items, and he did bring them back after a while, two different times for 2 different items. He and another male (possible owner, extremely arrogant) told me I had to go because they didnt like how I was talking to them, I told them obviously I would and I wanted a refund. They acted as if they would refund my credit card then told me they couldnt find my info as if I hadnt pay with it and threated my with the cops if I didnt leave. They later actually called the cops on me yet I was never rude or cuzzing at them but I was very adamant about their terrible service and for them to return my things/ refund. These people are complete garbage, beware with your stuff.

The hostal is beautiful, so central, and incredibly affordable. They serve a great breakfast in the morning and the views from the kitchen and the rooftop are beautiful. The high ceilings, open concept, and old wood make you feel as though you're in Europe. I would recommend anyone staying in Merida to come here. The front desk reception was very kind and attentive. The curtain in my private room was see-thru, kind of defeating the purpose of a private room, but this was fixed on the last night of my 5 night stay by hanging up a bedsheet.

Very central position but quiet rooms so you can have a good rest
Clean and tidy
Incredible breakfast, with several mais dishes at your choice
Big rooms and plenty of common areas
Friendly and helpful staff
Good internet connection
Amazing quality for the price!
