Well the 4.3 is very shocking to me here. Well first off there is no one running this place who's qualified. I get there and pay 250mx for shared room which 50 to 75 more then what I've been finding great private rooms go for throughout Mexico. Well I'm paying 250 and yet the staff cant even properly provide me with the information for what I am paying to use which is wifi and access to get in and out of the building. The staff couldnt speak lock of English which is a huge problem for mexicans trying to run a hostel and charge more for a shared room then a private to keep the poor Mexicans out. So by doing that majority of stayers will be English speakers so u gotta be able to communicate enough to tell me what I need to know and want to know about the area to be able to spend that needed money in ur lands. Also staff are not there 24 hours and I was left outside after my morning walking for 2 hours 730 to 930am. Not what I paid for. Also place needs a big cleaning hasnt been touched in a bit with lots bugs on beds in rooms. So all in all not worth 11usd at all. The only qualified and acceptable town worth staying in around guanajuato is san miguel de allende. Cause why pay 11 bucks for no kind of qualified service and required info about the place and community.

Go there only if you need an emergency place to stay for one night. Localization is perfect and it looks very nice inside but big rooms are also hot as hell. There's no AC, you can get only a fan that's so loud that it won't allow you to fall asleep. For the breakfast you get only a snack bar (even that they said there will be fruits). There is a kitchen, but it wasn't working and there's no kitchen stuff to use. And it all started with two guys in the reception that didn't speak English and they had to use translator to tell us what's the price for a bed.

The location is unbeatable. Amenities were nice. Water was hot. The terrace is spacious and comfortable. We appreciated that the website said ‘gay-friendly’ and was one of the reasons we booked here. But I don’t know who they hired to make it look so happy and bright in the photos. The host wasn’t friendly. We booked a private room with full sized beds and were put in a dorm room with twin beds (not so comfortable for a couple). There was no breakfast as advertised, and the water was empty in the kitchen. 2 smoke detectors chirped extremely loudly through the night, as no one has heard their call to replace the batteries. There were cockroaches on the walls in the kitchen, and old food left out on the counter and in the refrigerator.

So yeah, great location and newly renovated. But the service was poor and the host we interacted with seemed lazy and unhappy. There were no maps or information for Leon. It was our last night of 5 nights in Mexico, one of the more expensive hostels we stayed in, but all the other hostels had friendly and charismatic hosts that were informative of the area.

Stay here for the location.

It was a pretty chill hostel. Weren't too many people there when I went. Had everything you could ask for (good wifi, kitchen, free breakfast)

This hostel is maybe the best hostel in whole Mexico. If not the best one (cause I haven't seen them all), definitely in my top 3.

Very nice and huge terrace, very good location in center of city. Hostel is very nice decorated and it's a lot of space in the rooms and common places.
