Lush park with lots of beautiful open space, kid friendly areas and private areas. Super conveniently located in the center with lots of restaurants and activies all around it.

As a tourist I found myself walking around downtown Guadalajara. Went a little further up on my walk and found myself at Parque Morelos. The heat in the city was a bit overwhelming for me and was getting overheated. When I got to the park I found a nice area under a tree and sat down. Stayed there drinking my water, people watching and just enjoying my time.
I noticed kids playing and people walking about as if the heat was not an issue with them. Some people used the park as a shortcut to their destination. Some were hurrying to catch public transportation.
As I sat under the tree trying to cool off and perspiring drinking the remains of my bottle of water I keep thinking about the difference of my life in Seattle with the cold weather and the people the people in Parque Morelos and their daily enjoyment of the heat.
The park is a nice place to rest in the city and I recommend a visit if you touring in Guadalajara.

Despite its large size, this park suffers from a lot of noise, a lack of seating, poor landscaping, and an overall sketchy vibe from quite a few of the people hanging out there. We thought this would be a nice place to sit among the trees after a lot of walking around town, but once we got there I just wanted to leave. A much more beautiful and quiet alternative is Parque Revolucion not too far to the west.

Love this park, I sit down on a bench or on the grass and just observe time past. The people here are colourful and lively. And any soap opera can break out around any corner and can be observed at any time of the day. Love it.
